Culture Café Artists
Dawn-Marie is a singer-songwriter and a teaching artist. She's also the world's tallest five-year-old! She makes music for kids because she loves their honesty, their unique perspective, and their limitless capacity for joy! She has also appropriated some of her best dance moves from them!
Almond&Olive (A&O) creates inspiring songs that span the folk and Americana genres, while also incorporating timeless vocals and the duo’s distinct songwriting. Blended together, the duo's voices sound made for each other, soaring and guiding the music through all the ups and downs of these finely crafted songs.
Guitarist / Songwriter / Composer Christopher Alvarado studied Music Theory and Composition at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. Vegetarian since 1992, Christopher melds influences of popular, classical, jazz, and country music into his instrumentals and songs.
Folksinger Michael Johnathon has a long-standing career in the arts as a touring songwriter, playwright, composer of the opera "Woody: For the People," and as the host of the live audience broadcast of the WoodSongs Old Time Radio Hour with a radio audience with over two million listeners each week on 500 public radio stations, public television coast-to-coast, plus American Forces Radio Network in 173 nations and nationwide on RFD-TV Friday evenings. His latest release is the 176 page Book WoodSongs III and 12-song CD Gift Set.
Earnest & Troubled, the songwriter duo of Ilsabe O’Connell and James Curley, play and sing their own brand of Folk & Americana music and perform a smattering of music by famous people. They themselves are not famous. Maybe they should be? Come and decide for yourselves...
Ernesto believes music can restore us, unite us, and inspire us to take action for animals. He has written songs that have been used for animal rights activism in many parts of the world. His hope is to continue spreading the vegan word through song.
Bill is a bass guitarist, singer-songwriter, and owner/operator of BobDog Studios, a digital audio recording studio in Oak Park IL. Bill has been playing bass and singing in Chicago area bands since 1968, recording at BDS since 2002, and is a latecomer as a songwriter and vegan, adding both in 2015.
